Hi, I’m Nilsa Tolliver! I am the founder, Designer and Lead Coordinator of Emerald Events and would love to tell you a little bit more about myself. Here are 10 facts about me!
- My favorite colors are of course emerald green and a light shade of pink! My birthday is May 7th, meaning emerald is my birthstone. I think the color pink describes me perfectly, romantic, feminine, and sweet.
- I was born in Brooklyn, New York! I still visit often to spend time with family. It is the most populated part of New York city! I moved to Richmond VA in 1998 to attend VCU and never left!
- One of my favorite shows is Golden Girls! Who doesn’t love Betty White?! The character I’m most like is Sophia – AKA MA!
- My favorite food is anything my mom (aka the other Nilsa) cooks! She cooks authentic Puerto Rican food and it’s the best. My second fav foods are pasta and pizza.
- I still love to write all my plans and schedules down into a notebook even though now there are online calendars and note apps. There’s nothing like writing with a pretty pen and designer stationary.
- I absolutely love coffee but am trying to slow it down! Who’s with me on this one? I am proudly down to two cups a week. My fav starbucks drink is a white chocolate mocha with an extra shot of espresso.
- Before wedding planning I obtained my cosmetology license and worked in a salon doing hair and nails. I also modeled locally and was published in a few magazines!
- My biggest pet peeve is when I’m eating and someone says. “Ewww what is that?! I WANT to say, “Its food weirdo!” But that would be rude so I just smile and keep chewing.
- When I was younger I was left handed. When I was asked by a teacher what hand I write with (she saw me using both) and I told her both but mostly my left she said that was wrong and I needed to pick one. So she put the pencil in my right hand….and viola I became right handed. I can still write with both!
- My husband has the most dreamy green eyes. I often get lost in his eyes when he talks. He usually has to repeat himself at least 3 times before I can concentrate enough to realize what he’s actually talking about.
